PEBB's open enrollment runs Nov. 1 - Nov. 30

Employees receiving health coverage through the Public Employees Benefits Board (PEBB) Program will have an opportunity to make changes to their account during the 2011 open enrollment, which runs November 1 – 30, 2010. These changes will be effective January 1, 2011.

During open enrollment, you can:
• Change your medical and dental plan.
• Add or remove dependents from your PEBB coverage.
• Waive PEBB medical coverage or reinstate previously waived coverage.
• Enroll or reenroll in the flexible spending account (FSA) or Dependent Care Assistance Program (DCAP). To continue enrollment in the FSA or DCAP programs, you must reenroll each year.

Where can I find more information?

For more details on PEBB’s open enrollment, you can read the newsletter mailed to your home in mid-October or go to PEBB’s website at www.pebb.hca.wa.gov. On the web, look for the information specific to 2011. The website includes plan comparisons, videos about 2011 coverage, open enrollment newsletters for state/higher ed employees and guidance on how to make changes.

Don't forget the Bates downtown bookstore book buy back!

Instructors, thank you for sharing this information with your students!

The Bates bookstore will be having a book buy back on Nov. 17 and 18 from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the downtown campus only. Students can receive cash for their used textbooks.

Help drive the fund(CFD) towards the goal!

A message from CFD Chair, Ivan Gorne:

The number of donors thus far for the 2010 Combined Fund Drive (CFD) campaign totals 61. Those 61 pledges place us within $146 ($12,876 or 98.88% of the way there) of the total fund drive for Bates last year ($13,022). Unfortunately, I made an error in last week’s Bulletin when I reported the following: ” Current, online pledges total $12,876, so we are well on our way to surpassing last year’s total of $19,000.” The $19,000 was last year’s goal, not the actual, which – as stated above – was $13,022.

Back to the importance of number of donors. 92 of your colleagues donated to the CFD last year. Just imagine what we can contribute if 31 more Bates faculty and staff pledge to the fund this fall. Better yet, move that imagining from a thoughtful intent to a concrete pledge this week, so that we can exceed last year’s total and move on from there.

But MOST important of all, thank you for your generous pledges and continued support to the combined fund drive.
(Click to access the
online donation form.) Thank you!
