Pacific Institute's Tice passes away

After a brief illness, Lou Tice, founder of the Seattle-based The Pacific Institute and self-help mentor, passed away on April 1.

In 2006, Bates and The Pacific Institute entered into a partnership that allowed more than 300 staff members to participate in the institute's Investment in Excellence and Thought Patterns for a Successful Career curricula. The college also offered a course to all new students called Strategies for Success, which aimed to increase their success in college and life, and was based principles taught in The Pacific Institute.
