Following an extensive national recruitment, the Bates
Technical College Board of Trustees has announced a schedule of community
forums for the presidential finalists that will take place on Tuesday, May 29.
The selected finalists are Dr. Tony Apostle, Puyallup,
Wash.; Dr. Ron Langrell, Austin, Minn; and Amy Goings, Tacoma, Wash.
The campus community is invited to attend the community
forums which are scheduled as follows:

Apostle is the Superintendent and Chief Executive Officer
for the Puyallup School District. Apostle’s educational background includes a
doctoral degree in elementary and secondary education from Washington State
University, a master’s in educational administration from Washington State
University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Washington.
Goings is Vice President for Operations and College
Relations at Clover Park Technical College. A lifelong Washingtonian and first
generation college graduate, she received her Master of Public Administration
from The Evergreen State College. Goings is pursuing her educational
administration doctorate full-time at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Langrell has been the Executive Vice President, Chief
Academic Officer for Riverland Community College, located in Austin, Minnesota
since 2005. Langrell has completed the Institute for Educational Management at
Harvard University and holds a doctorate in higher education from Florida State
University. He possesses a post-master’s degree in vocational teacher
education, a master’s degree in guidance and counseling, and Bachelor of
Science in psychology, all from the University of Idaho.
